10th Rajab 195 AH: Birth of Imam Muhammad at-Taqi al-Jawaad (as)

Imam Muhammad at-Taqi al-Jawaad (as)

10th Rajab 195 AH: On the birth of Imam Muhammad at-Taqi al-Jawaad (as), one of the youngest to become an Imam.

Hakima, the sister of Imam Reza (A.S.), says on the night of his (Imam’s [A.S.]) birth my brother advised me to be present beside his wife. The son of Imam (A.S.) came to the world very conveniently and looked at the sky and declared and confirmed the oneness of God and the Prophet-hood of the Prophet of Islam (P.B.U.H.). I, upon observing this matter trembled and went to my brother, and told him about it. My brother said, “Oh sister don’t be disturbed you will see the surprises even after this one.”

This birth was a very auspicious, blessed and comforting because it took the Shias out of the wandering state, doubt, irresolution and indecision.

Naufali narrates, “When Imam Reza (A.S.) was traveling to Khurrasan I said, “Don’t you have any order for me.” He said, “You follow my son after me and question him about your difficulties.”

Imam (A.S.) persistently and continuously told his friends, “It is not necessary that you write to me and ask me question, instead you make queries and ask questions from this young child who is the Imam next to me.” When some of his friends reflected their amazement and surprise that how this child would be stationed as the Imam of the Ummah? He would say, “God appointed Jesus Christ (A.S.) as the Prophet when he was even younger than Abu Jaffar. Age and years do not have any interference in the Prophet-hood and Imamate.

The Ninth Imam Hazrat Jawad (A.S.) undertook the responsibility of Imamate at the age of nine years. One of the friends of Imam (A.S.) says, “Ali Ibn-e-Jaffar the uncle of Imam commanded a great respect among the people and whenever he went to the mosque, people would surround him and ask questions about their problems.” One day, Imam Jawad (A.S.) arrived the mosque. Ali Ibn-e-Jaffar who was an aged and elderly person got up from his place and kissed the hand of the Imam (A.S.), and stood beside him. Imam (A.S.) said, “Uncle sit down.” He said, “How can I sit while you are standing.”

When he returned among his friends they reprimanded him saying, “You are an old man and the uncle of this child. Why do you respect him that way?” He replied, “keep quiet, Imamate is an office and a station from God. God did not deem this old man fit and capable for the leadership of the Ummah, but considered this child capable for it. You must all obey his commands.”

I’d like to extend my heartiest felicitations to the Master of the time, Imam al-Mahdi (atfs) and to all of you and your families on this blessed day.

1 Rajab 57 AH: Birth of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as)

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as)

1 Rajab 57 AH: On the birth of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as), the one who splits knowledge.

Thus it is reported on the authority of Jabir b. Abd Allah in adirect (mujarrad) tradition: The Apostle of God, may God bless him and his family, said to me:

It will happen that you will live until you meet one of my children descended from al-Husayn, peacebe on him, called Muhammad, who will split wide open knowledge of religion. When you meet him, recite my greeting to him.

I’d like to extend my heartiest felicitations to the Master of the time, Imam al-Mahdi (atfs) and to all of you and your families on this blessed day.

The Call

As salaamu alal Husayn
Wa ‘ala Ali ibnil Husayn
Wa ‘ala awladil Husayn
Wa ‘ala ashabil Husayn

A man stood alone in a desert
And called out, “Hal min nasirin yansurna?”
“Is there anyone to help me?”
But why did he say this when all he could see were headless bodies lying on the burning hot sand
With only the night as their shroud

Let me tell you about this man
His lineage was light upon light
Only light runs through his veins
And when his head was poised upon a spear
Light radiated from it that even the Sun was jealous

I won’t tell you about his lineage
Oh no, for if no tears run from your eyes
For the definition of oppression
Then how can you call yourself human?
But hear this story:

It was the tenth night of the month, on the plains of Karbala
“Karb” meaning land and “bala” meaning trials
Thus, the land of trials
This man lost everything that meant anything to him
He had the world in his hands
And even when an arrow pierced through the fresh neck of his six month old child
And the sky rained blood and no life would ever grow on the ground
He had the patience to say to his Lord, “Take from me whatever pleases You.”

They thought they had extinguished the fire of truth
But I tell them, that even if you were to separate the moon from the sun, the moon will find its way back

I walk this Earth with a fake smile on my face
But the only way you can understand me is by knowing this story
Tragedies befell this man
So don’t blame me for being sad
When till this day, people are being oppressed because they stood for justice
Here is a man who gave everything away
I will not be happy until a man from his progeny will reappear and fill this Earth with justice

So who was this call for?
When everyone was dead around him?
This call is heard 1400 years later
This call is not bound to time
It is eternal
This call was for you and for me
And when we hear this call, we reply, “Labbayk Ya Husayn!”
“I am here and ready to serve you, Oh Husayn.”

20 Jamaadi al-Akhir 615 AD: Birth of Bibi Fatimah Zahra (sa)

Sayyidatun Nisa al-Alameen

20 Jamaadi al-Akhir 615 AD: On the birth of Bibi Fatimah Zahra (sa), how shall I write this? A human’s words would never do justice to her, so here is an ayah that tells us who she really is.

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as (if there were) a niche and within it a lamp, the lamp is in glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east (i.e. neither it gets sun-rays only in the morning) nor of the west (i.e. nor it gets sun-rays only in the afternoon, but it is exposed to the sun all day long), whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself), though no fire touched it. Light upon Light! Allah guides to His Light whom He wills. And Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knower of everything. (Surah Noor:35)

There are hadith saying that the light in this ayah refers to az-Zahra, the niche is the Prophet (saw), and the glass is Imam Ali (as). For a more detailed analysis, listen to the lecture that Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi of ISIJ of Toronto gave on May 12, 2012. (Anyone know if the video is online?)

Read about her blessed birth starting from page 5. http://www.al-mubin.org/attachments/597_House%20of%20Sorrows.pdf

I’d like to extend my heartiest felicitations to the Master of the time, Imam al-Mahdi (atfs) and to all of you and your families on this blessed day.
